Betsy Martinez

Communications Coordinator

Betsy Martinez is an undergraduate student working with the Webber Energy Group since summer 2015 as coordinator of digital communications. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film production with an expected graduation in May 2016. Betsy’s responsibilities include managing the Webber Energy Group’s websites, newsletters, and social media and connecting with other communications offices on campus.

Before joining the Webber Energy Group, Betsy worked as a student assistant to the Radio-Television-Film department administrative staff. She has produced student film projects and also enjoys directing and filming documentaries. Her most recent film follows the Groundwork Music Project, a non-profit organization in Austin that provides free and low-cost music classes to schools with very few resources.

After graduating, Betsy will be joining the 2016 Teach For America Corps in Houston, Texas as a bilingual elementary teacher. After her commitment she will pursue intellectual property/media law.

Projects

A documentary that was filmed and directed by Betsy which follows the Groundwork Music Project, a non-profit organization in Austin, Texas that provides free and low-cost music classes to school with very few resources.
