Fall 2009 to present
Mechanical Engineering, Cockrell School of Engineering
Research Topic:  Electricity Grid Modeling and Integration of Intermittent Generators

Aaron’s research focuses on electricity grid modeling, integration of intermittent sources such as wind and solar,
and tools for planning future generation fleets under greenhouse gas emissions limits.  Aaron has considered
non-traditional generation technologies such as waste-to-energy and evaluated the economics of energy storage
technologies in the zonal ERCOT market.  Aaron’s current research goal is to evaluate and potentially improve
the accuracy of capacity-planning methods currently used in models that attempt to predict energy prices with large amounts of intermittent generation sources.
