Cassandra is one of only 57 mechanical engineering students that received The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, providing full tuition, a generous stipend, and an optional foreign travel grant. <br /> <br />The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship is a highly prestigious award, supporting the top U.S. students beginning research towards Masters or Doctoral degrees. The selection process is rigorous and winners are selected using an intellectual criteria, based on outstanding academic and research records as well as research plans, and also a broader impacts criteria, based on a history of and dedication to contributing to the community and under served persons.<br /> <br />Cassandra Telenko got her B.E. from The Cooper Union in New York City and plans to stay at The University of Texas at Austin with The Webber Energy Group and the Product, Process, and Materials Design Lab.</description>

<description>Afolabi Ogunnaike, Webber Group Member and Chemical Engineering undergraduate student, was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by UT&rsquo;s African Students Association for outstanding leadership, service and dedication. Afolabi who served as the organization&rsquo;s President  (2005-6) and Treasurer (2004-5) helped launch a number of initiatives and the expansion of others during his time in office. Some of these successes include tripling the amount of money raised for charitable causes, overhauling the leadership structure and organizing an African talent show watched by over 600 people. The organization received numerous accolades including being named UTMost Outstanding Student Organization 2005 and 2006 in polls organized by The Daily Texan. </description>
